Why is it important to maintain healthy testosterone levels?
Our bodies require testosterone to maintain these aspects of your health, especially as you age. Unfortunately, a natural part of the aging process for most men is a decrease in testosterone over time. Testosterone typically peaks during adolescence and slowly declines at a rate of approximately 1% per year once a man reaches 30 or 40 years of age.
Lowered testosterone levels are normal when caused by aging. However, a condition called hypogonadism in men results in reduced testosterone and can be indicative of a problem with the testicles or pituitary gland.
Ensuring that your body is producing the correct amount of testosterone is important in order to help reduce your risk of developing illnesses like heart disease or diabetes. Low testosterone levels have been associated with metabolic syndrome, an umbrella term that covers risks like high blood pressure and low HDL or “good” cholesterol. These risks can increase your odds of developing type 2 diabetes and even your chances of suffering a stroke.
Why is it important to maintain healthy testosterone levels for women?
A common misunderstood fact is that women also have testosterone. Testosterone helps to promote bone growth, improve mood and increase libido in women.
In addition to the benefits listed above, women also see a decrease in menopause symptoms, such as hot flashes and night sweats. Decreasing body fat, thickening hair and increasing cognitive functions, such as memory and focus are also benefits of HRT.

Testosterone Cypionate
A common treatment for hypogonadism, testosterone cypionate is an injectable solution. Patients are provided instructions at their follow up appointment in order to administer at home.
Enclomiphene Citrate
Enclomiphene citrate is a compounded oral medication that is integral to healthy testosterone production and can help increase sperm count and the size of a man’s gonads, in addition to maximizing testosterone levels.
Anastrozole
As testosterone levels increase in men, we can also see a slight rise in estrogen levels. Anastrozole helps to reduce the amount of estrogen that the body creates. Excessive amounts of estrogen in the male body can present as weight gain, gynecomastia (enlargement of the male breast tissue) as well as mood changes. A customized treatment plan and subsequent monitoring ensure normal hormone levels.
